Project Description

Customer

Hotel Stanford is a boutique hotel in New York City known for its fusion of old world charm and contemporary convenience. The Hotel Stanford strives to provide captivating hospitality rooted in the values of the Orient and was awarded Trip Advisor’s Certificate of Excellence in May 2011.

Lighting Challenge

•Lobby chandelier featured inconsistencies between bulb wattages and three blown sockets, resulting in patchy lighting and dark spots
•Hallway recessed ceiling lights were using R20 bulbs whose narrow beam angles caused shadows

Project Outcome

•Reduced yearly lighting energy costs by $46,604 and yearly bulb costs by $5,246
•Created an even lighting aesthetic in hallways by using LEDs with wider beam angles
•Achieved uniform lighting in lobby chandelier by repairing sockets and using bulbs with consistent wattages, beam angles, and color temperatures
